Leadership
I am a leader in music education because I work hard when given opportunities, and I take advantage of what James Madison University has to offer to the full extent. I love the opportunity to help others do the best they can, and I enjoy teaching. I take pride in being the president of JMU's Chapter of the ACDA, and getting to run large-scale events. I show up to things, and I make sure when opportunities arise I am getting my name out there. Since coming to JMU I have found it easier to take charge and do things that need to be done. Becoming an RA at JMU taught me so much about taking care of others while managing the paperwork and organization part of the job. I feel empowered to do what I can and to do what is right, and when I student teach I hope to be a confident and knowledgeable music teacher, ready to lead my class or ensemble. I will continue to work on developing my leadership skills to ensure I know how to facilitate a worth-while experience.
